HOT 103/QX 104 Christmas – Turkey Tuesday Contest
Manitoba Turkey Producers will be participating in a Christmas radio promotion with HOT 103/QX 104 FM again this year. The Turkey Tuesday Contest is scheduled for December 1, 8, 15 and 22, but it will have a new twist. You can pay a turkey forward! This is how it will work: Christmas turkeys will be given away once an hour, every hour, between 6 am and 6 pm by HOT 103 and QX 104 on four Tuesdays in December. Each winner will claim a turkey of their own and they will be able to “pay one forward” to someone else, whether it is a friend, a needy family or a charity. Tune into HOT 103 or QX 104 radio stations starting Tuesday, December 1st for your chance to win.
Great Tastes of Manitoba Cooking Show Features Turkey
Watch “Around the World with Turkey” on December 12 as part of the Great Tastes of Manitoba television show. We will focus on turkey dishes with different ethnic inspirations. Tune in to the show Saturday evenings at 6:30 p.m. on CTV Winnipeg. The recipes are available at all Liquor Marts, Sobey’s stores, on the foodmanitoba website, or through Manitoba Turkey Producer’s office.

Turkey Triathlon Contest
We are very excited to announce the Turkey Triathlon Contest winners! The Turkey Triathlon recipe contest for students in grades 5–8 was a new joint venture with Granny’s Poultry. Participants created an original turkey recipe in one of three categories, using ingredients listed on our website. Turkey Triathlon attracted the interest of many budding young chefs and it was tough to narrow down the list of entries to just nine finalists!
The finalists went on to compete at Winnipeg’s Tre Visi Restaurant on May 25, 2009. The students worked with a professional chef to prepare their recipes in a cook off extravaganza! Breakfast Television made the day extra special by doing live television broadcasts from the restaurant.

The Turkey Triathlon winners each received a fantastic turkey lunch for their school classroom in June, including succulent samplings of the winning recipes as well tasty turkey pepperoni sticks and turkey nachos. Winners also received a $250 gift certificate for valuable school equipment.
