A cloudy and windy day did not stop hungry turkey fans at The Forks. On September 1st, over 100 spectators cheered on the final three contestants of Manitoba’s Best Turkey Burger Recipe Challenge, hosted by Manitoba Turkey Producers and Granny’s Poultry Cooperative. Amanda Felberg of Winnipeg, Bev Braun of Landmark, and Lenay Gutoski of Dugald battled it out over a hot BBQ to bring the best and most delicious turkey burgers to Manitobans. After tallying up the votes, the grand prize winner was Bev Braun, for her ‘3C’ Turkey Burger with Balsamic Onions and Smoked Gouda. The vote was close, and no one left empty handed. Bev took home a 4-burner BBQ and 5-piece patio set from RONA, and $200 shopping spree from Granny’s Poultry. Our 2nd place contestant, Lenay Gutoski, took home 2 bicycles from Gord’s Bike & Ski. And all three of our contestants left with a Granny’s grilling kit and an assortment of Bothwell cheese.
